Use found objects to construct a sculpture
Sculpt With Found Objects
Use what you’ve learned about materials, scale, and space to construct a sculpture
Studio Project Prompt:
Use found objects to construct a sculpture
Parameters:
Before you begin, check out these sculptures by the students at Oogie Art School in New York City!
These students used plastic cups and battery-powered lights to create an installation. They transformed the cups from commonplace objects into organic-looking forms.
The student who made the sculpture above wanted to work with shoes. After experimenting, he realized that he needed to create a cardboard armature to support the shoes. Then he attached the shoes to the cardboard.
This student sculpted a figure using bottles and plastic wrap. How do you interpret the statement she makes by using these materials?
